Quilter’s Thread is the creation of Lisa Book Berentsen. Strictly as a hobby, Lisa began quilting in the 1980’s and teaching quilt making in the 1990’s. With a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and more than 20 years of professional experience in business to business marketing and technology, Lisa saw the opportunity to combine her personal and professional interests in a mobile app for quilters.
“Since my early days beta testing Microsoft products, I have seen technology as a tool,” said Berentsen. “I’m particularly happy to package technology in a manner that allows quilters and quilt shops to use the tool without needing to be a technology genius.”
“It is important to me to make the effort to promote the small businesses in the quilting industry. The internet is a wonderful thing, but can distract quilt makers from the resources and community that small businesses offer. Our app uses technology to connect quilters and preserve the sharing, collaborative nature of quilters, guilds and quilt shops.”
