Group Project Survey

October 8, 2013 By Lisa Berentsen

We’ve got a couple of days left for new designs on the group project. On Friday, we’ll survey to decide the basic design; on Saturday, we’ll present final color variations for voting. Make sure to put your suggestions in the Group Project feed (Publicly or Privately,) and put your votes in on Friday and Saturday. There’s a gift card for you if your suggesstion gets used.

QT Resources- Sizes and Measurements, etc.

October 7, 2013 By Lisa Berentsen

Size and MeasurementsWe are constantly (slowly) building the QT library. You can find documents in the app…under Resources…pick your category…. look for “Reference” at the bottom right. If there are specific measurements you want us to figure and post just use the feed in “Sizes and Measurements” to request it and it will move to the top of our list. The same goes for a strip or paper-pieced pattern…request it in the “Piecing/Patterns.” Or, you can put it in the general feed as a “Public” or  a “Private” comment…we’ll figure it out and get it posted for you.

Colorblind?

October 4, 2013 By Lisa Berentsen

My husband is colorblind- he has deficit seeing blues and greens. We have much more red in our house than I’d like, but he sees that color well. I’ve often wondered what he actually sees; scientifically, there are descriptions of his anomaly and explanations of what he sees. I’ve looked at my quilts and tried to put his color filter on them to understand his perception, but, ultimately, I realize that he sees what he likes to see.  Each of us has that unique interpretation that is colored by our experiences and what we like.  When it comes to color in quilting, I pretty much like everything….except what I don’t like.
